This wine is made with a lot of love, care and attention with grapes from our 1987-planted Chardonnay vines. Our winemaker, Peter Dredge, decides when to pick these grapes based on their taste alone and so the fruit reveals itself when it's ready. We lovingly harvest the grapes by hand. They are then whole-bunch pressed straight in to French oak barrels (10% new) and allowed to mature for 9 months. Pete is all about minimal intervention and simply allows our vineyard to speak for itself. A perfect drink for you to open on a special occasion with your loved one, taking time to savour each others company while enjoying a deliciously pure expression of our Tasmanian vineyard. Amazing varietal white stonefruit flavours are rich and flavoursome with Meadowbank's excellent natural acidity helping to balance and extend the wine right through to the back palate. Complex and medium bodies, this magnificent Chardonnay is one of Tassie's best.
Meadowbank is a farm and vineyard in the Derwent Valley of Tasmania. Run by the Ellis family since 1976, Meadowbank has many layers yet is singular in its pursuit of quality. Located approximately 65km north west of Hobart's bustling CBD, historically Meadowbank Vineyard has supplied Tasmania with some of it's best fruit. Partnering with friend and winemaker Peter Dredge, the next chapter is now being written. ‘Meadowbank’ is the purest realisation of what our vineyard and Tasmania can offer. We look forward with great enthusiasm to the future with our amazing fruit and the natural skills of Peter's wisdom to produce our next award winning wines.
