Bright pale straw colour to the eye. A richly perfumed wine with hints of pear skin and stone fruit. A rich textured wine showing excellent palate weight and structure. Ripe fruit flavours with splashes of sweet lycees, plus a level of nuttiness derived from time on yeast lees. The finish is clean and dry with good flavour persistence and lingering acidity. This wine will continue to improve over the next 3 to 6 years.
Tamar Ridge Vineyard
The Tamar Ridge range of wines offers pristine varietal definition, great purity of fruit character, and the refreshing acidity which is the hallmark of genuine cool climate wine. Only grapes grown at our Kayena Vineyard are selected for this range of wines. Located on the western banks of the Tamar River, Northern Tasmania, Kayena Vineyard is planted to a range of cool climate varieties. The majority of the vineyard is planted on gentle undulating slopes with a northerly and north-easterly aspect. All vines are hand-pruned and a significant amount of the fruit produced at Kayena is hand harvested to produce grapes that display pristine fruit flavours and distinctive varietal character.
