A vibrant red colour with darker under tones. Ripe lifted cherry notes are complemented by smoky coffee oak characters. The palate is long with spicy fine soft tannins. Fruit is dark and ripe with well integrated French oak giving good structure and length. The fruit was hand-picked from two blocks on the property; the majority was the 777 clone and the rest was the MV6 clone. The parcels were then destemmed into 1T plastic OMNI Bins for fermentation. I split the parcels evenly into three major groups which we inoculated with RC212, BGY and Wild yeast. During fermentation we regularly plunge to immerse the skins and extract colour and tannin as gently as possible. After ferment all portions went through malo-lactic fermentation and then matured for nine months prior to bottling.
