This Observatory Hill Pinot Noir is full to the brim with classic cherry and red berry characters. Layers of spice and star anise on the palate are superbly balanced with French oak complementing the ﬁne velvet tannin structure and providing a pleasant, lingering ﬁnish.
Coal River Valley
With a long family tradition the first vines were planted on Observatory Hill’s Mt. Rumney property in 1991. Observatory Hill has become a well-known vineyard in the coal river valley of Tasmania and was started by the Richardson Family in 1991. In 2016 the Clack family purchased the land and plan to build and expand on the foundation laid back in 1991. The vineyard is situated at the entrance to the Coal River Valley wine region, immense care and attention is devoted to the vines at Observatory Hill. In the cool Tasmanian Autumn, this attention to detail ensures that the grapes reach the winery in optimum condition. The combination of our selected winemakers style and knowledge and our carefully selected grapes go together to create the high quality, award winning, boutique wines for which Observatory Hill has is renowned.
