This is a full-bodied wine showing "burgundian" characters within the fruit flavours, soft tannins and a firm acid backbone. The fruit is integrated with the oak, and shows a complex of wild berries and damson plums. This wine is ready to drink now, but cellaring for a further 3-5 years will produce some superb secondary characters. Wild yeast fermentation and new and old French oak, this wine is a superb example of cool climate Pinot Noir. The wine exhibits its South Eastern Tasmania roots showing berry fruit, dark plum and spice, whilst with bottle age shows subtle mushroom and forest floor characters.
