Fragrant aromatics of freshly picked citrus fruit and apple tree blossom dominate the bouquet. Fruit for this wine was sourced from the Coal River Valley. The palate displays rich lime and lemon fruits; the mouthfeel is textural and lengthy with a nice fine acid spine offering great length to this wine. Best enjoyed over the next five years.

Alec Bailey
Deviance Tasmania
The Deviance range of wines is an exciting new vision from Alec Bailey. Whilst working under the guidance of Derwent Estate senior wine maker John Schuts, Alec identified small parcels of pristine fruit from selected vineyards around Tasmania and applied numerous natural winemaking techniques to bring the best out of these grapes. The sourced fruit was all hand picked from the premium regions of the Coal River and Tamar Valleys. Utilising wild yeast ferments, wild malolactic conversions, barrel ferments and lees stirring as the cornerstone of his philosophy, the whole range of Deviance wines is definitely a more "hands off" way of winemaking than most.
