This Riesling provides living proof of the variety’s chameleon-like behaviour when it is grown and made in the optimum circumstances of a small cool climate vineyard in southern Tasmania. Right now, it has tremendous youth and vibrancy, and a certain vigour that propels the wine’s varietal characters of citrus and green apple right out of the glass and onto the palate. Give it a decade or more in a cool dark place and you will find the hallmark aromas and flavours of an aged Riesling. These work brilliantly with patês and terrines, smoked salmon and quail, or the very best in Italian prosciutto.
