In 2019, the Huon Valley experienced the worst bushfires since 1967. The smoke from these fires meant that we were unable to make any of our acclaimed Pinot Noir’s – we were devastated to say the least! However, we got creative! By gently whole-bunch pressing the fruit and treating it like a white wine, our experienced winemakers were able to minimise the effect of the fires and produce what is now, the 2019 White Pinot Noir. The wine is richer than other white wines, rare, refreshing and quietly trending.

Home Hill Winery is nestled in the picturesque Huon Valley, a short thirty-minute drive south of Hobart. With stunning views of the surrounding vines, pastures, livestock and mountains, we are a country retreat where our guests enjoy the quiet peacefulness of this paradise away from the hustle and bustle. Our award-winning wines and delicious menu, reflect our proud Tasmanian heritage. Rosemary and Terry Bennett, the proprietors of Home Hill, look down on the vineyard from their home, pinch themselves, and wonder how their relaxing hobby farm of six rows of vines has turned into an award-winning vineyard that produces some of Australia’s top quality Pinot Noir. Apples were once produced on the site, along with memories of the years gone by when their three young children were placed in bulk bins to entertain themselves while they harvested their crops of apples. Fast forward 27 years, and Home Hill is one of the most popular and well-loved destinations in the Huon Valley.
