The Frogmore Creek Cuvee Sparkling is the latest new edition to the Frogmore Creek stable of premium cool climate wines made here in southern Tasmania. The base wine was whole bunch pressed to retain fruit delicacy and then aged and blended prior to tirage. Minimum 18-months of aging on lees before disgorging with special dosage to retain complexity yet revitalise the palate. On opening this wine reveal delicate aromas and flavours of toasted brioche, wild strawberries and cashews.

Critical climate indicators such as rainfall, temperature, sunshine hours, number of rain days and humidity combine at our vineyards in the Coal River Valley, making it a world class ultra-premium wine region. The accolades from our range of wines show that our efforts in our vineyards including matching fitting varieties to our true cool climate viticulture practices are not in vain. Our winemaker Alain Rousseau hails from an old vigneron family in Vallet of the Loire Valley region of France. He was formally trained at the prestigious Dijon University of Burgundy, before returning to the Loire to work at Château du Cléray. In 1991 Alain and his wife moved to Tasmania, joining the local wine industry at its infancy. For a decade he worked with Domaine A and Moorilla Estate, gaining many accolades for his Tasmanian wines. After a four year sojourn at Sirromet winery in Southern Queensland, Alain returned to Tasmania in 2004 to work with Frogmore Creek, developing and refining our wine style.
