Matured for 4 years American Oak (Maker's Mark) and finished for one year in Port French oak blood tub.
Golden in colour. A flavorful whisky with intense fruit and spice. Sweet, woody aromas and flavours of tropical fruits, toffee, vanilla custard, caramelized apples and dusty straw, tea with a chewy, vibrant, and fruity full body. Peppery spices, and oak spice finish. The palate is sweet initially, with notes of citrus fruits, clean wood and youthful maltiness. The stickiness from the wood finish then begins to unfold, chocolate coated almonds and burnt sugar before coming to a soft floral note and then you are left with a toffee note on the finish.
McHenry Distillery Tasmania
McHenry Distillery Tasmania rests on the side of Mount Arthur, located on the Tasman Peninsula. Mount Arthur stands sentinel over Port Arthur, with its deep harbour opening southward into the Great Southern Ocean. McHenry and Sons Distillery is Australia’s southern-most whisky distillery, its location taking advantage of the cool-moist-maritime environment, giving the maturing spirit the right conditions to make the most of its time in the wooden barrels. The William McHenry & Sons Distillery uses a Tasmanian made water-jacketed electrically heated 500L pot still. This allows the distiller to precisely control to the distilling process and means products from the distillery are of the highest quality.
